What Is Chiropractic?
Chiropractors use hands-on spinal manipulation and other pain relieving treatments. Chiropractic care aligns the body's musculoskeletal structure, particularly the spine, which will enable the body to heal itself. Manipulation and other treatments are used to restore mobility to joints restricted by tissue injury caused by a traumatic event, such as an accident or injury or repetitive stress.

Chiropractic is a pain relief alternative for muscles, joints, bones, and connective tissue, such as cartilage, ligaments, and tendons. It is a complimentary or stand alone therapy, and can be used in conjunction with conventional medical treatment.

Passive Physiotherapies for Pain Management Can Include:
  • Chirproactic Adjustment
  • Heat/Cold
  • Electrical Stimulation: EMS-TENS units
  • Ultrasound
  • Traction
  • Vibration
  • Light Therapy
  • Massage Therapy

Active Physiotherapies for Pain Management Can Include:
  • Stretching
  • Strengthening exercises
  • Low-impact aerobic conditioning
  • Pilates

Several different types of health professionals may provide physical therapy, including chiropractors, physical therapists, and physical medicine and rehabilitation physicians (physiatrists).
